$20.00 – Large, bloom size The parents of S. ‘Doodle Bug’ are S. alabamensis and S. psittacina. It is a beautiful highly colored cultivar. The semi-erect to erect yellow–green pitchers are 8” to 10” tall and veined prominently with red. The puffy curved hoods are infused with yellow. The upper parts of the pitcher tubes are infused with red. Both the hoods and upper pitcher tubes are dotted with white areoles. This plant presents a rainbow of red, yellow, white and green all through the growing season and looks good all Winter. Small dark red flowers.

$15.00 – Medium, bloom size S. 'Lady Bug’ is a cross of S.(psittacina x purpurea) x minor. This beautiful hybrid has 4” to 6” tall semi-erect to erect, curved pitchers with tailored curved hoods. The pitchers are yellow-green suffused with intense red color on the upper tubes and hoods, which are dotted with white areoles that often appear to be pink. Looks good all winter. Medium size deep red flowers.

S. ‘Dixie Lace’ is a cross of S. (leucophylla x alabamensis ssp. wherryi) and a plant given to the North Carolina Botanical Garden before 1985. The donated plant was an unknown hybrid of S. psittacina and probably S. purpurea made by Dr. Warren Stoutamire. This highly colored beauty produces erect curving pitchers up to 10" tall with red to maroon tubes and arching yellow hoods spotted with white areoles. The whole pitcher is intensely laced with maroon veins. The plants are compact, growing into multi-crowned clumps. Looks good all Winter. Small dark red flowers. |
